Fallon, Ely, and points between in Nevada
Driving across Nevada is a lonely experience. Staying in Fallon, NV, was not an option, though! I guess I had forgotten what towns were like after a week in the desert but I just couldn't wait to get out of this one. I had Spidey in the passenger seat and a bunch of great tunes on the cd player so I sang and drove and sang and drove. And drove and drove... |

I arrived in Ely, NV, at long last. After searching in vain for Miss Labia Mirage (a.k.a. Prudence Kierkegaard) at the
non-existent Motel 9, I drove out of town to a little State Park called "Cave Lake". It's a great park, with a lovely lake
and friendly people. I had intended to stay in Ely at a motel but the thought of waking up in my tent, alone, quiet, and without a care in the world (and no 'checkout time'!) proved too much for me to bear. |

The next day I drove back into Ely to gas up the truck and stopped at the White Pine Museum, which has wonderful artifacts
from the boom-era of mining in Nevada earlier in the 1900's. |

So now where to, you ask? Easy! |

Spidey and I were off to Salt Lake City! We travelled via Highway 80 and although it was a hot, hot day, the miles clicked by before I knew it. I was so excited to see my sister!
