We took a long road trip during the last part of July and the first part of August. It was great fun!

Our main objective was to tour the Minuteman Missile Facility in Cooperstown, North Dakota. This is a nuclear warhead missile silo that was decommissioned in 1996 and turned over to the state of North Dakota as part of their Heritage Site program.

But on the way, we toured Glacier National Park, Waterton Lakes Provincial Parks, and other places that we found on the map as we drove along. The ride was nice, the company was excellent (as always!) and we returned home rested and happy from our travels. We explored some neat parks and really had fun each night firguring out where were going to go the next day.

Our last night was at the Geiser Grand Hotel in Baker City, Oregon where, after dinner, we went to a good old-fashioned demolition derby at the fairgrounds. What a blast that was! I didn't even know they had demolition derbies anymore. They really banged up those cars, too. The last car that could move won the 'race' and it could only move about three feet forward, then three feet back. But that was more than the other cars could do, ha!
